Battling Through Error 28083 with DMZ Security Servers in VMware View 5.3

This is a common error when trying to establish a com link between Security servers in a DMZ to a Connection server on the LAN through a firewall. The Security server will install only if it can see a Connection server to bind with.

Error28083

VMware delivers all the firewall port information in its documentation for View setup; however, it fails to add one important piece of information: An IPSEC-ESP rule has to be added between the LAN and DMZ to allow traffic. No ports need to be specified, just the protocol or application set. That rule, in addition to the port information provided by VMware allowed us to complete the setup.
